Feeling the heat? We can help

Mediabird is a small collective of creative media types who really like a challenge! We work with small businesses, start ups, entrepreneurs, the third sector and the public sector and give people all the knowledge and confidence they need to move their business forward.

We are planning a couple of summer workshops to give local business owners the chance to get together, have a natter and learn about things like:

  • Social media
  • Blogging
  • PR and communications
  • Dealing with the media

The workshops are £35 per person and will run from 9.30-12.30 and include lovely coffee and cakes and the chance to book in for a free consultation with one of our team of PR and communication experts.

Loads of lovelies in Lycra cycling for charity

Like so many of us, I am guilty of not keeping in touch with friends as much as I should. This is purely due to the time limitations that my life seems to impose on me, and specifically my social life (my teenage boys  have a better social life than I do). I don’t think this is a particularly unusual situation but having spent some time with a lovely friend this morning who has not only got a brand new relationship and two adorable boys, but who Is now living about three minutes from me, I do have tremendous guilt and now promise to do much better on the keeping in touch front. Considering my career involves constant communication, I am a disgrace.

Anyway enough of this indulgent self loathing! The lovely friend I refer to mentioned to me that she is part of a group of 16 girls from the Cherwell Valley who will be taking part in a 470km cycle ride across rural Rajashtan early next year, to raise much needed funds for a selection of amazing local and national charities.

Between them the Lycra clad lovelies will be leaving behind them 12 husbands, one fiancé, one boyfriend, a couple of works in progress and a positive menagerie of children, dogs, cats, chicken and fish- oh and a class of 22 10 year olds.

They have loads of fab events planned this year to raise cash and are each funding the cost of their trip themselves but need six businesses to come forward and sponsor their team shirts at £300 per shirt.

There must be loads of people out there who would be delighted to sponsor such a glamorous and determined bunch of dynamic women so please do go to their Facebook page  www.facebook.com/valleygirlscycle and offer some support!
